Slate has the most natural, archaistic and artistic character among stone, it owns high praise for low-radiation, acid-resistance, frost prevention, non-slip, fireproofing and so on.   Slate is easier to maintain than other natural stone surfaces. Over the years, old world craftsmen have used slate for high traffic areas and exterior walls. It comes in a wide variety of colors -  Blue gray, Green, Gold, Yellow, Gray and Rust red

Slate is easily to be split with specialized tools and keeps natural appearance and fine-grained, the smoothness and flatness make slate tiles easily to be piled up. Slate can be made into roofing slates; it is also called roofing shingles, it is very resistant to frost damage and freezing breakage.

Slate can also be made into tiles and wall cladding which are often used for interior and exterior flooring, stairs, even can be set into walls to provide a rudimentary damp-proof.

Large dimension slates can be made into precise patterns for pool tables, billiard table beds, slabs, countertops, writing boards, window sills etc. Small dimension and scrap material can be made into mosaic, meshed tiles, slate crafts and random patterns. With constant innovation, slates can be made into prefabricated stone products such as ledge stone, culture slate, fireplace etc.

Slate tiles are often used for interior and exterior flooring, stairs, walkways and wall cladding. Tiles are installed and set on mortar and grouted along the edges. Chemical sealants are often used on tiles to improve durability and appearance, increase stain resistance, reduce efflorescence, and increase or reduce surface smoothness.
